Phocal is a “local-first” app: all of your boards, photos, and stickers are stored only on your device by default. We do not collect, upload, or store your personal information.
1. Data Storage
All boards, photos, stickers and other data you create are stored on your device by default
We do not proactively collect, upload, or store any personal information on our servers
Widget data is shared between the main app and the widget extension via the iOS App Group, and remains stored locally on your device
You can export all of your data as a file via the “Data Backup” feature; the exported file is kept by you
2. Information Collection (Minimized)
We do not collect: name, phone number, email, or other personal identity information; location; or your contacts
We never upload your photos or stickers to cloud servers
Device permissions (for local features only, fully under your control and switchable anytime): Photo Library (to pick photos), Camera (to take new photos)
We may collect only necessary anonymous device information to improve stability: crash logs, device model and OS version (no personal data)
3. Data Security
Your data is stored in your device's sandbox; other apps cannot access it
Your data is protected by iOS system security mechanisms; the widget only shares data via App Group for this app's internal use
When switching devices, migrate data manually via “Data Backup”; uninstalling the app deletes all local data, so please back up in advance
4. Third-Party Services
Subscriptions are processed through Apple StoreKit; payment information is handled by Apple, and we cannot access your payment details
WidgetKit (desktop widgets) and the Vision framework (photo cutout) run entirely on-device and upload no data
5. Your Rights
View / edit / delete: you can view, edit or delete any photo, sticker, or board at any time
Export: you can export your complete data via the “Data Backup” feature
Choice: you are free to choose whether to use features that require permissions
6. Protection of Minors
Suitable for users of all ages; we do not proactively collect any user's personal information
Users under the age of 14 are recommended to use the app under a guardian's guidance
7. Policy Updates
If we update this policy, it will be posted in the app with the update date; local data is not affected by policy updates
